Report: ‘Huge problem’ for Spurs as they look to sort new Kane contract quickly

Football Insider have now claimed that Harry Kane will not sign a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur until a new manager is in place.

The report explains that Tottenham remain keen on tying Kane down to a new deal and want to build the team around him after a new head coach is hired.

In fact, the club are even thought to be consulting the striker about their managerial search in an effort to persuade him to stay.

However, the 29-year-old has allegedly told the North London club’s hierarchy that he will not consider putting pen to paper on a new deal until a replacement is in place for Antonio Conte.

It is said that this represents a ‘huge problem’ for the Lilywhites who were keen to secure Kane’s future before the start of the summer transfer window.

Football Insider add that Manchester United remain hopeful they can sign the England captain for £85m plus add-ons this summer but Spurs are expected to value their talisman at £100m despite his contract situation.

This is not any great revelation as it would be quite ridiculous for Kane to sign a new deal before the club confirm a new appointment.

In fact, Tottenham would likely not even approach the striker’s camp before they have sorted out the managerial and director of football situation so that they can present the 29-year-old’s entourage with an ambitious project.
