Report: Injured Spurs player did not train yesterday – Not fit enough for ball work yet

Chris Cowlin has confirmed that Ivan Perisic did not train with the rest of the Tottenham squad on Monday.

The Tottenham squad got a taste of just how difficult pre-seasons are under Antonio Conte and his coaching staff at the Seoul World Cup Stadium yesterday.

The journalists and the thousands of fans who watched the open training session witnessed the players being pushed to their limits, with reports indicating they were made to run 42 lengths of the pitch after training for 90 minutes (Daily Mail).

Alasdair Gold provided a worrying update on Monday, revealing that Dejan Kulusevski left the training session early to get some treatment.

The same has now been confirmed by Cowlin, who took to social media to reveal that Kulusevski was seen speaking to the head of Tottenham’s medical department Geoff Scott after withdrawing from the training session.

He also added that Perisic did not train with the rest of the squad on Monday.

The Daily Mail have explained that the Croat, who was injured towards the end of last season, is not yet fit enough for ball work. The publication also revealed that Kulusevski seemed to be troubled by a calf muscle problem on Monday.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Perisic is recovering from an injury and so, it is not surprising that he did not take part in the session.

The Croat is a fantastic athlete and I would expect him to be in top physical condition regardless of whether he goes through Conte’s gruelling pre-season training regime.

The news about Kulusevski is much more concerning. Let’s hope the calf issue is not serious and he only withdrew from training as a precaution.
