Report: Injured Tottenham star expected to be fit in time for Wolves match

The Evening Standard have revealed that Emerson Royal is expected to be fit for Tottenham’s trip to Molineux Stadium.

After the disappointment of their elimination from the FA Cup at the hands of Sheffield United on Wednesday, Tottenham will turn their attention back to the Premier League with a tough away clash against Wolves next on the agenda.

The Daily Mail have revealed that Antonio Conte is not expected to be in the Spurs dugout on Saturday, with Cristian Stellini once again set to take charge.

However, one man who Tottenham will likely be able to recall is Emerson, who missed the clash at Bramall Lane with a knee injury, with Pedro Porro starting in the Brazilian’s place.

The Evening Standard have now confirmed that the former Real Betis man is expected to be available for selection for the clash against the West Midlands side after recovering swiftly from his knee problem.

Emerson has been in exceptional form of late and his return to the starting eleven will be a welcome sight for Spurs, given that Porro has not had the best of starts to his career in North London.

We are certainly going to need Emerson back to deal with the threat of Matheus Nunes or Pablo Sarabia (whoever starts on the left) and the potential threat of Adama Traore if he comes on.

While Porro is an exciting prospect, he could be a defensive liability tomorrow, given the threat that Wolves pose from the flanks.
