Report: Inter increase their bid for Eriksen

According to a report by Sky Italy (as relayed by Sky Sports), Inter Milan have now offered £11m plus two bonuses to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham before the end of the January window.

The report claims that the Italian giants previously offered £8.5m for Eriksen but their bid was rejected by Spurs who told them the midfielder would cost double that amount.

It is revealed that the 27-year-old’s agent Martin Schoots will meet with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy today to discuss the situation further.

Eriksen, whose contract with Spurs runs out in the summer, has been linked heavily with a move to Inter the last few weeks but Jose Mourinho hinted on Friday that the club had not received any concrete offer for the Danish international (Football.London).

While the structure of the bonuses offered by Inter are not specified in the report, Antonio Conte’s side will be hoping their latest offer is enough to tempt Spurs into parting ways with the former Ajax man.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio told Sky in Italy on Monday night: “Christian Eriksen is an important player. We have submitted an official offer and now we are waiting.”

Spurs Web Opinion

This deal looks like it is certain to go through but I wouldn’t be surprised if it dragged on until deadline day. I don’t believe Eriksen will be too much of a miss for us as his form has been poor for almost a year. Hopefully, Lo Celso will come into his own as he gets more game time in the coming months.
