Report: Inter looking to complete £22m deal for rumoured Spurs target

Sky Italia have revealed that Inter Milan are looking to snap up rumoured Tottenham target Lorenzo Insigne amidst the stalemate in his talks with Napoli over a new contract.

Insigne has been Napoli’s talisman for the last decade and the experienced winger once again showed his quality on the big stage during the European Championships this summer.

Reports from Italy claimed last month that the 30-year-old, who is into the final year of his deal at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, was a summer target for Spurs.

RAI journalist, Paolo Paganini, also backed up this claim, insisting the most serious offer for the Italian international had come from Tottenham.

However, Sky Italia have now revealed that Insigne could be on his way to Inter after the Nerrazuri identified him as the man to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.

The report explains the player’s dialogue with Napoli regarding a new deal has hit a roadblock, with the Serie A club failing to make any concrete offer.

It is explained that the Partenopei could have to sell their captain this summer if they do not wish to lose him on a free transfer in 12 months time.

Inter are said to be intent on taking advantage of the situation and landing Insigne for a fee of around €25m (£21.27m).

Inter’s move for Insigne could be a sign that the Serie A champions are planning to revamp their attack and might be open to cashing in on Lautaro Martinez.
