Report: Inter Milan are readying contract offer for 25-year-old Spurs target

90 min have claimed that Inter Milan could soon deliver a defining blow in the race for Tottenham target Marcus Thuram.

The report names Tottenham as one of the Premier League clubs who have spoken to Thuram’s representatives but it is revealed that Inter are now stepping up their efforts to sign him on a free transfer next summer.

The forward is said to have informed Borussia Monchengladbach that he will not renew his current deal which runs out at the end of the season, with the Nerazzurri having prepared a pre-contract offer for the player.

While Gladbach would like to sell Thuram in January, Inter do not want to pay a fee for the Frenchman, who is allegedly keen on moving to the Serie A.

90 min add that Inter’s biggest threat for the Gladbach star is likely to come from the Premier League. Apart from Spurs, the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle United are thought to have expressed an interest in the France international.

The report adds that Eddie Howe’s men will try to convince Thuram to make a move to St James’ Park in January and would be willing to pay the £10m fee that Gladbach are demanding.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on this report and others over the last two weeks, it appears as if the race for Thuram is between Inter and Newcastle, with the former being the frontrunners. I am not surprised that Spurs are not making a big effort for the Frenchman as he does not fit the profile of attacker Conte is likely looking to add in January.
