Report: Inter Milan ‘close’ to signing centre-back allegedly wanted by Conte at Spurs

CalcioMercato have revealed that Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham, is now ‘close’ to completing a move to Inter Milan.

Reports emerged soon after Conte’s appointment at Spurs that the North London club were looking to raid Torino for Bremer.

Tottenham’s London rivals West Ham and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the centre-back while Inter Milan were alleged to have spoken to the player’s entourage about a move to the San Siro.

According to CalcioMercato, Inter have now stepped up their pursuit of Bremer. The report reveals that the 24-year-old is at the top of the Nerrazuri’s list of priorities in January as Simone Inzaghi goes about reinforcing his backline.

Inter are said to be facing competition from their cross-city rivals AC Milan for Bremer.  However, the Nerrazuri are thought to be close to winning the race for the Torino star, having reached a ‘draft agreement’ with the defender’s entourage.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Bremer does rank near the top of Conte’s wishlist, one would expect Spurs to make a bigger push for the centre-back given that they can outspend Inter. So, it could well be that the Brazilian is not Conte’s number one centre-back target, with the Spurs boss and Paratici having their eyes on other names.
