Report: Inter Milan could make offer for Spurs-linked midfielder in January

Calciomercato have claimed that Inter Milan could make an offer for rumoured Tottenham target Nahitan Nandez in January.

Nandez has enjoyed two solid campaigns for Cagliari since arriving in Italian football from his native Uruguay back in the summer of 2019.

The midfielder was linked with a move to Spurs during the summer transfer window, with reports stating the Uruguay international had put in a transfer request and was keen on completing a move to North London.

However, the transfer did not materialise, with Tottenham alleged to have pulled out of the deal since they found Cagliari’s €30m (£25.7m) asking price to be excessive.

Nandez’s agent, Pablo Bentacur admitted earlier this month that Cagliari had promised that his client could leave in January if a suitable offer comes their way.

However, CaclioMercato’s latest report suggests that the Lilywhites could face competition from Inter for the midfielder.

It is revealed that the Nerrazuri are on the lookout for a replacement for Marcelo Brozovic and Nandez is one of their names on their wish list.

The report further adds that Inter tried to sign the 25-year-old during the summer as well but abandoned their pursuit in the latter stages of the window.

Spurs Web Opinion

We seem to be linked with workman type midfielders like Nandez and McKennie but I am not sure that they would represent an improvement over what we have.

If we are to show that we mean business, we need to land a Kessie type of player who would instantly improve our side.
