Report: Inter Milan desperate to tie down player Conte ‘dreams’ of signing – Chelsea and Man Utd interested

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan are working to tie-down Milan Skriniar to a new contract amidst interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.

Skriniar has had another exceptional season at the San Siro but his current contract with Inter only runs until the summer of 2023 (Transfermakrt).

Gazzetta claim the centre-back’s performances this season have attracted the attention of several Premier League clubs including Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United.

It is explained that Antonio Conte ‘dreams’ of taking Skriniar to North London while Chelsea have identified him as a replacement for Antonio Rudiger.

Inter are allegedly keen to hang on to the 27-year-old, with Simone Inzaghi valuing his versatility and seeing him as one of the leaders of the dressing room.

The Nerazzurri hierarchy are said to be ‘in a hurry’ to tie Skriniar down to a new contract to ward off interest from the Premier League.

The Serie A giants have reportedly readied a new contract worth €4.5m (£3.8m) per year, which is expected to rise to €5m (£4.2m) over the coming years.

Spurs Web Opinion

Skriniar has always maintained that he wishes to remain at Inter (Sport.sk). So, if the Serie A club are not willing to sell, the 27-year-old would seemingly not be a realistic target for Tottenham.

Having said that Spurs will certainly need other defensive reinforcements apart from a left-sided centre-back, with Joe Rodon and Davinson Sanchez potentially on their way out of the club this summer.
