Report: Inter Milan do not have a ‘clear path’ to midfielder as Tottenham circle

FcInterNews report that Inter Milan are aware they face competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur for Albert Gudmundsson and are prepared to offer some players to Genoa to bring down the price of the operation.

A whole host of outlets have reported over the last couple of weeks that Tottenham hold a concrete interest in Gudmundsson and are plotting a summer move for the 26-year-old (Football.London).

However, a couple of days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by TMW) handed Spurs a blow by revealing that the attacking midfielder had given a green light to join Inter next summer after the Nerazzuri made an early move for him.

Inter Milan are aware of Spurs and Juventus interest

FCInterNews have now provided an update on the Serie A club’s pursuit of Gudmundsson, with the club said to be aware that they ‘do not have a clear path’ to the Genoa star.

This is because Tottenham’s interest in the player is ‘alive’ while Juventus have allegedly already spoken to the Iceland international representatives.

The publication adds that the €30m (£25.7m) fee demanded by Genoa is considered ‘very high’ by Inter, who are now exploring the possibility of sending some of their players the other way as part of a deal for Gudmundsson.

Spurs Web Opinion

There will likely be a few more twists and turns in this transfer saga before the transfer window opens and I would not be surprised if a few more clubs join Spurs, Inter and Juve in the race for Gudmundsson, particularly if the 26-year-old continues to shine at Genoa.
