Report: Inter Milan expected to cash in on Spurs-linked star this summer

Gazzetta dello Sport have revealed that Inter Milan are expected to put rumoured Tottenham target, Marcelo Brozovic, up for sale this summer.

Brozovic has been a fantastic servant over the years for Inter but the midfielder has shown signs of decline this season and is no longer a guaranteed starter for the club.

InterLive reported two weeks ago that Tottenham were leading the race to sign the 30-year-old, who is also said to have other admirers in the Premier League.

The report asserted that Fabio Paratici was driving Spurs’ interest in the Croat and that the Lilywhites could even look to offer Tanguy Ndombele to the Nerazzurri as a part of the deal.

Gazzetta have now explained that Inter would have to sell several of their first-team players this summer in order to fund their rebuild of the squad.

The report asserts that Simone Inzaghi’s men have to be ‘creative’ in the market, given their current financial situation, with Brozovic named as one of the players they are expected to cash in on.

However, the publication asserts that it might not be easy for Inter to find a buyer for the midfielder, given his age and salary he is on.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect Brozovic would have been a Conte target rather than a Paratici one.

I would be surprised if Spurs pursue the Croat now that the Italian looks set to depart, with the North London club likely to go after a younger option to bolster their midfield ranks.
