Report: Inter Milan have offered rumoured Spurs target improved contract

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham target Ivan Perisic has been offered an improved contract by Inter Milan.

Spurs are expected to be in the market for a left wing-back this summer (Football Insider), and it was reported last week by ESPN that Perisic was one of the options on the north London club’s radar.

The report revealed that the Lilywhites were facing competition from Juventus for the experienced wide-man, whose current deal at the San Siro runs out at the end of next month.

Tuttosport subsequently claimed a few days ago that Antonio Conte was keen on reuniting with Croat at Spurs and suggested that the Inter star was not a priority target for Juve.

Nerazzurri boss Simone Inzaghi has said that he is hopeful the 33-year-old will put pen to paper on a new contract at Inter (Daily Mail).

Romano has now revealed that Inter have offered Perisic a contract with improved terms worth €5m (£4.2m) per season plus add-ons. The journalist added that the player will now discuss the offer with his representatives before deciding on his next steps.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can see why Spurs would be eyeing Perisic as there are not a lot of left wing-back options that are available around Europe. It seems like both Juve and Tottenham have Perisic and Filip Kostic in their sights.

Despite being 33 years of age, the Croat remains extremely fit and he is well versed with the demands of Conte’s system. It makes perfect sense why Spurs would be tempted if he is available on a free transfer, especially given Fabio Paratici’s tendency to bring in free agents.
