After successfully signing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham last month, Inter Milan are now keen on bringing the midfielder’s former Spurs teammate Jan Vertonghen to the San Siro, according to reports.
The Belgian’s contract with Spurs runs out at the end of the season and some reports in the British press have suggested that the club are unlikely to offer the defender a new deal (Daily Mail).
The report in Corriere dello Sport reveals that Inter could attempt to sign Vertonghen on a free transfer in the summer.
The 32-year-old hasn’t seen much football in recent weeks, with Jose Mourinho seemingly preferring the centre back partnership of Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld.

I don’t think the club are likely to offer Vertonghen a new contract if he doesn’t put in a few solid performances this season. Unfortunately, I just can’t see him getting enough game time before the end of the campaign to prove that he’s still good enough for this level.
