Report: Inter Milan slash Dumfries asking price amid Spurs and Chelsea links

CMW.it have revealed that Inter Milan have slashed their asking price for Tottenham target Denzel Dumfries to just €30m (£26.2m) ahead of the January transfer window.

Reports over recent weeks have indicated that Antonio Conte is prioritising strengthening at right wing-back in January (90 min), with Italian publications suggesting that Dumfries is the Tottenham head coach’s number one target (Rudy Galetti).

The race for the Netherlands international appears to be heating up, with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal also credited with an interest in the right-back (CMW).

If CMW.it’s latest update is to be believed, Bayern Munich could also enter the race for Dumfries, with the Bundesliga giants said to have identified the Inter star as a potential replacement for Benjamin Pavard.

The report adds that, as things stand, Chelsea are the front-runners to snap up the former PSV Eindhoven man in January.

It is asserted that Inter valued Dumfries at around €50m (£43.7m) in the summer but the Nerazzurri are now ready to accept just €30m (£26.2m) for the player, owing to his disappointing performances this season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Dumfries would be an excellent fit for Conte’s system and one would think that the Dutchman can be convinced to make the switch to Tottenham as he would not necessarily be the first choice at Chelsea or Bayern.

Right wing-back is undoubtedly the area where we are most in need of strengthening in January, given that Conte and his coaching staff do not seem to think Spence is ready for this level.
