Report: Inter Milan think they are favourites to win race for Spurs-linked midfielder

According to a report from Tuttosport, Inter Milan believe they are the frontrunners to snap up Tottenham target Franck Kessie in January.

There have been contradictory reports emerging out of Spain regarding Kessie’s future recently.

While AS claimed last week that Barcelona are willing to cash in on the midfielder for just €10m (£8.5m) in January, Marca reported recently that the Catalan club have decided to keep the midfielder as a squad player until the end of the season after meeting with his agent.

Meanwhile, Sport reported a couple of days ago that Tottenham were the frontrunners to snap up the Ivorian ahead of both Inter Milan and Juventus, with the North Londoners alleged to have made a loan offer for the player with an option to buy.

However, Sport’s claim has now been contradicted by TuttoSport, who suggest that the Nerazzurri consider themselves the favourites to land Kessie.

It is alleged that Inter are optimistic about their chances of bringing the 25-year-old back to the San Siro after stepping up their pursuit of the player.

It is anybody’s guess which of these reports are true as they all seem to be making contradictory claims. My suspicion is that Barcelona will be willing to sell Kessie in January if they receive a permanent offer rather than a loan with an option to make the deal permanent.
