Report: Inter Milan willing to sell reported Tottenham target in January

CalcioMercatoWeb have claimed that Inter Milan are willing to cash in on Hakan Calhanoglu, who is thought to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Following four impressive seasons at Milan, Calhanoglu made the controversial switch to cross-City rivals Inter just last summer.

The Turkey international enjoyed an impressive first season with the Nerazzurri notching up eight goals and 13 assists across all competitions in 2021/22 (Transfermarkt).

Reports from Italy suggested back in June that Spurs had their eye on Calhanoglu and were even willing to offer Giovani Lo Celso or Davinson Sanchez to Inter as part of the deal to sign the attacking midfielder.

The 28-year-old stayed put at the San Siro this summer but if CalcioMercatoWeb’s latest update is to be believed, he could be on the move in January.

The report asserts that Inter are willing to cash in on Calhanoglu if they receive an offer of €30m (£25.9m).

CMW add that the Turk has ‘several admirers’ in the Premier League, with Newcastle United being named as one of the interested clubs.

Spurs Web Opinion

Calhanoglu would fit the bill for what Spurs need as not only can he operate as a creative midfielder but can also cover for the wide areas.

So, should Spurs loan out Sarr and Gil in January, a move for the Inter star would make sense, particularly considering that he is not likely to be expensive.
