Report: Inter ready to offer Alexis Sanchez in swap deal for Spurs target

According to Argentine publication TYC Sports, Inter Milan have stepped up their pursuit of River Plate striker Julian Alvarez, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham over recent months.

Alvarez has been on fire in front of goal for River Plate this season, with 17 strikes in 10 league matches so far.

Tottenham are one of the clubs alleged to be following the 21-year-old’s progress ahead of the January transfer window

It was previously reported that Spurs face competition from the likes of AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa for the Argentine international.

Sources from Argentina have backed Alvarez to be sold in January as River Plate might find it difficult to extend his contract, which runs out in December of 2022.

TYC Sports have now revealed that Inter have stepped up their pursuit of the 21-year-old, having sent scouts to watch him in action in River Plate’s 2-2 draw against Rosario Central on Sunday.

The report reveals that the Nerrazuri are prepared to include Alexis Sanchez in any deal for Alvarez. It is explained that any club hoping to sign the Argentine wunderkind in January would have to put €20m (£17m) on the table.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is not surprising that many of the big clubs across Europe are chasing Alvarez as he looks to be the next big thing to emerge from Argentine football.

However, I do not expect Spurs to be involved in the race for the 21-year-old as the club will likely be looking for a more established number 9 to cover for Harry Kane.
