Report: Inter set to offer player to Spurs to sweeten Eriksen deal

According to report by Sky Italia, Inter Milan are set to offer midfielder Matias Vecino to Tottenham as part of a potential swap deal for Christian Eriksen.

The Spurs midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season and has been linked heavily with a move to Inter Milan this month (La Gazzetta Dello Sport).

The Italian giants are said to be pursing the Tottenham man as an alternative to Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, who Inter boss Antonio Conte is said to be keen to bring back to Italy (Corriere della Sera via Sports Witness).

While Inter are said to considering sweetening the deal for Eriksen by offering Vecino to Tottenham, The Express claim that Spurs are not keen on the 28-year-old midfielder and would prefer a straight cash deal.

The report suggests that Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri tried to sign Vecino while he was in charge of Chelsea and while Carlo Ancelotti is said to be keen on bringing the Inter midfielder to Everton.

Spurs Web Opinion

Vecino would be an extremely uninspiring signing as he is not better than what we have in central midfield. At 28 years of age, he doesn’t have the potential to improve and it is not clear if he will be a good fit for the Premier League. I would much rather bring in a young player like Soumare or Fernades who has the potential to develop into a world-class midfielder.
