MSP Sports Capital are fully focused on Everton

The Daily Mail revealed towards at end of April that multiple US-based investment groups had shown interest in buying a minority stake in the North London club.

One of those was thought to be MSP Sports Capital, with The Financial Times revealing last year that the consortium had even taken ‘formal steps’ to buy a stake in the Lilywhites.

At the start of last week, Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe stated on social media that the club were holding talks with MSP, who were said to be interested in buying a 40 per cent stake in the Premier League side but he later deleted that tweet.

Subsequently, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold stated a few days ago that those within Spurs had shot down any suggestions of ongoing negotiations with the investment firm.

Tottenham deny talks with MSP Sports Capital

GiveMeSport have revealed that MSP have been assessing their options regarding Everton’s future after loaning £158m to the club last year.

The report says that the investment firm, who have converted their initial loan into equity, could own a 25 per cent stake in the Merseyside club while allowing the other investors to run things at Goodison Park.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect MSP might have shown interest in buying a minority stake in Tottenham last year before their loan to Everton but now that they have acquired a stake in the Toffees, it appears their talks with Tottenham are over.

I don’t expect Tottenham to rush into any kind of investment agreement, so these links and rumours could run on for years to come.
