Report issues update of Tottenham’s pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso

Tottenham Hotspur may have already secured the signings of Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke this summer (BBC), but it appears that they intend to bring some more fresh faces through the door.

One man who has been heavily linked ever since Spurs reportedly bid £53m for him is Real Betis playmaker, Giovani Lo Celso (BBC).

Talk of a deal has somewhat quietened in the past two weeks, as the Argentine has been away on international duty at the Copa America.

It has also been reported that the deal has stalled as the two clubs are failing to agree on a valuation of the attacking midfielder (Sky Sports).

However, Marca now claim that a date has been set to get the deal done by, and it seems Spurs are willing to push Betis right up to the wire, with August 8th (deadline day) named.

The report also states that Tottenham are currently studying ‘all possible formulas and alternatives’ in order to team up fellow Argentines Poch and Lo Celso.
