Tottenham Hotspur may have already secured the signings of Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke this summer (BBC), but it appears that they intend to bring some more fresh faces through the door.

One man who has been heavily linked ever since Spurs reportedly bid £53m for him is Real Betis playmaker, Giovani Lo Celso (BBC).

Talk of a deal has somewhat quietened in the past two weeks, as the Argentine has been away on international duty at the Copa America.

It has also been reported that the deal has stalled as the two clubs are failing to agree on a valuation of the attacking midfielder (Sky Sports).

However, Marca now claim that a date has been set to get the deal done by, and it seems Spurs are willing to push Betis right up to the wire, with August 8th (deadline day) named.

The report also states that Tottenham are currently studying ‘all possible formulas and alternatives’ in order to team up fellow Argentines Poch and Lo Celso.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I think i read on Football Insider that Spurs had bid 61mill last week. I could be wrong but i am pretty certain i at least read it somewhere.

  2. A report this morning is claiming that the other vomit down the road are trying to snipe in need to get a move on Spurs .

  3. They (Real Betis) paid about £22m for in April (2019) and want something like £70m plus now. Levy is right not to be held to ransom over this transfer. With Poch wanting the deal and Levy’s patience at work I think it will happen, but it might be a bit painful.
