Tottenham Hotspur had an unlikely hero in Fernando Llorente is last season’s historic Champions League campaign, in which Spurs made it all the way to the final.
Fernando Llorente scored a third against Dortmund in the last 16 to kill the tie off, before scoring the winner against Man City late on to book the club’s place in the semi-final.
His influence didn’t end there though, as the Spaniard won the flick on to Dele Alli in the build-up to Lucas Moura’s 96th-minute winner in Amsterdam that booked Tottenham’s place in the final.
The fairytale story was without a happy ending though, as Spurs lost the final and Fernando Llorente’s contract came to an end in North London (Football London).
However, the Telegraph now say that despite Llorente’s £100,000 per week contract expiring, Spurs are not ruling out offering him a new deal on reduced terms.
Llorente is said to want a return to Spain, but could be convinced to pull on the Lilywhite shirt again.
