Report: Italian club are now confident of beating Tottenham to top target

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by FCInterNews), Inter Milan are confident of beating Tottenham to the signature of Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson.

Over the last week, various Italian outlets have reported that Spurs are locked in a three-horse race for Gudmundsson’s signature with Juventus and Inter Milan (Tuttosport via Sport Witness).

A couple of days ago, SportItalia handed Tottenham a boost by suggesting that Genoa’s asking price for the versatile forward has put off the Nerazzurri.

Inter Milan are confident in Gudmundsson race

However, this claim has been contradicted by Gazzetta’s recent update, which claims that Simone Inzaghi’s men are confident that Gudmundsson is the signing they need to take them to the next level.

The report says that Inter have been ‘fully convinced’ by the Iceland international and have made him their top summer target.

The publication adds that even though the Serie A giants expect to face competition from the Premier League for the Genoa star, they are confident of winning the race for the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

There appears to be a contradictory report from Italy every day or two about Gudmundsson, with there being no clarity on who is at the front of the queue at the moment.

However, it does seem like Inter are keen to make an early move in order to avoid a repeat of what happened last summer, with Tottenham pouncing on Vicario before they could act.
