Report: Italian club prepared to triple defender’s wages amid interest from Spurs and Liverpool

Italian side Torino are reported to be prepared to offer Gleison Bremer a bumper pay rise in an attempt to keep him at the club amid rumoured interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Tuttomercatoweb claim that the 24-year-old, who has just 18 months remaining on his contract at Torino, who are set to treble his wages.

The left-sided central defender reportedly earns £18,000 per week at the Serie A outfit, with Torino running the risk of the Brazilian entering the final year of his deal next summer.

Tuttosport had earlier suggested that new Spurs boss Antonio Conte is keen to land Bremer as part of a triple raid on Torino with Andrea Belotti and Wilfried Singo also said to be interesting the North Londoners.

Even if Torino trebled his wages to around £54,000-a-week, it would still likely be straightforward for Tottenham or Liverpool to gazump their wage offer given the financial strength which Premier League clubs possess.

Ben Davies is currently operating on the left-hand side of Conte’s defensive trio alongside Dier and Romero, with respect to the Welshman, we need more of a ball-playing defender who also possesses pace.
