Report: Italian giants open to selling player previously linked with Spurs

According to a report by Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Calcio Mercato), AS Roma are open to selling winger Cengiz Under after the wide man has enjoyed a less than ideal start to the season.

The 22-year-old has struggled for game time this season, having made just seven appearances in Serie A this campaign partly due to injuries (transfermarkt).

Tottenham were linked heavily with a move for Under in the summer while their North London rivals, Arsenal were also said to be interested in him (Turkish Football).

However, a move failed to materialise and the wide man has failed to kick on as expected this campaign.

Under signed for the Italian giants from Başakşehir in 2017 but it was his performances in the 2018-19 season that won plaudits.

The youngster is contracted to the Italian giants until 2023 (TBR Football) and is valued at €40 million (Calcio Mercato).

Spurs Web Opinion

Under had a sensational campaign last time out and it looked like his value was only going to increase over the coming years. That is why I was for buying him in the summer but with the stop-start campaign he has had so far, I am now not so sure that he will be an upgrade on Giovani Lo Celso or Erik Lamela.
