Report: Italian giants want to sign Spurs-linked central defender

According to Sky Sports Italia, AC Milan are keen on Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan, who is also rumoured to be on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar.

The 20-year-old has established himself as an important part of the Strasbourg side since breaking into the team at the start of last season.

Tottenham reportedly being one of a number of clubs who were vying for his signature during the summer transfer window (RMC Sport).

The French Under-20 international ended up staying at Strasbourg and has continued to impress in Ligue 1 this season despite his side flirting with the relegation zone.

According to Sky Sports Italia, AC Milan are eyeing a move for the talented youngster this month as they seek to bolster their defensive options to aid them in their title tilt.

The report suggests that Simakan is at the top of their wish list as he is not likely to be overly expensive and represents an investment for the future.

Spurs Web Opinion

Some reliable sources have claimed that we are in the market for a centre-back in January. However, we have some talented young defenders already at the club in the form of Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga. What we need is not another one for the future like Simakan but an experienced leader at the back.
