Report: Italian media claim Spurs offered midfielder to European giant

It was reported last week that Spurs were offered a swap deal for Tanguy Ndombele by Juventus with Aaron Ramsey proposed to have headed in the other direction (The Telegraph).

However, reports coming out of Italy suggest it was, in fact, the other way around and it was Spurs who offered Ndombele to Juventus.

Calcio Mercato claim Spurs were looking for a potential destination to offload the Frenchman following what has been a difficult first season for the 23-year-old in England.

Ndombele has not started a single game since the Premier League restart and has only played 19 minutes of football when he came off the bench in the 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United (Transfermarkt).

The Italian outlet claims the Old Lady were not interested in Ndombele due to the characteristics he has shown during his short time at Spurs and is not of the same value of the Welshman.

It is also suggested Juve do not consider Ndombele to be a fair trade for the former Arsenal player.

Spurs Web Opinion

Personally, I do not believe this at all. I cannot see Spurs offering Ndombele out given what has been said by the club regarding having high expectations for Ndombele’s future at Spurs. I also do not see Juve rating Ramsey higher than Ndombele.
