Report: Italian side keen to take Spurs’ French international on loan

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be considering making Moussa Sissoko available for loan this summer, according to Italian news outlet La Repubblica.

Serie A outfit Napoli are said to be keen on the midfielder and are currently working to try to understand how they can look to secure his services, with Tottenham still paying some of his wages.

Sissoko, who is currently on international duty with France at Euro 2020 revealed late last month that he is open to leaving Tottenham after what he claimed had been a difficult season for him and plans to sit down with the club to discuss his future (Foot Mercato).

The 31-year-old is under contract in North London until the summer of 2023 and having been a regular in the last couple of seasons under Mauricio Pochettino, he found himself only starting 15 out of the 35 Premier League games in which he was involved in during the previous campaign.

A fresh challenge would suit both Spurs and Sissoko, however the club should be looking to sell him rather than a loan deal given the fact he still has two years to run on his contract.

Sissoko is a pure athlete, unfortunately his footballing ability is not up to the standard expected from a Spurs midfielder given his failure to show any creativity or desire to pass forward and join in an attack.
