Report: Tottenham’s £10m finally gets a taste of league action

Tottenham’s summer signing Jack Clarke has endured a frustrating start to the season to date.

After being bought by the North London club for £10m from Leeds United in the summer, the 18-year-old was sent back to the Championship club on a season-long loan (BBC).

However, up until last weekend he was yet to play a minute of Championship football this campaign under Marcelo Bielsa, that changed last weekend as he finally got his chance against Luton Town, a game in which he came on as a 71st-minute sub (Football.London).

The youngster reportedly put in an impressive cameo and helped Leeds take home all three points from a tough away fixture.

Football.London also claim that Tottenham have the option of recalling Clarke from his loan move in January.

Spurs Web Opinion

The decision to loan him back to Leeds has proven to be a poor one as six months of Clarke’s development have been wasted. I am certainly not hopeful that Saturday’s display from Clarke will see him get more game time at Leeds this season. I hope the club decide to loan him out to another Championship club for the second half of the campaign.
