Report: Japhet Tanganga linked with PSG swap deal for midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be weighing up a swap deal involving Japhet Tanganga and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes.

Italian news outlet CalcioMercatoWeb report the plan would ‘knock out’ interest from three Serie A clubs.

AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus are all credited with having the Tottenham academy product on their radar in the current transfer window, however, Juventus must first find a new club for Arthur Melo before they can proceed further.

Paredes, who signed with PSG in the summer of 2019 from Zenit St. Petersburg, has two more years left on his current contract (transfermarkt).

SpursWeb Opinion

A swap deal involving Tanganga and Paredes would be good business for Tottenham given their need for another midfielder in their current circumstances with Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso set to leave the club this month.

At 28, Paredes is entering the peak of his career, but whether he woud be prepared to battle it out with the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp and Yves Bissouma is questionable.
