Report: Joao Sacramento linked with vacant managerial job

According to a report by Belgian outlet Le Soir, Belgian side, Mouscron could be set to approach Tottenham assistant coach Joao Sacramento to become their next manager.

The Belgian top-tier side have not won a single league game so far this season, drawing three and losing six of the nine games they have played.

Mouscron are rooted to the bottom of the table and have decided to part ways with Fernando Da Cruz over the weekend, with reports now indicating that they might turn to Sacramento to save them from the drop.

The 31-year-old arrived at Spurs along with Jose Mourinho last November and has impressed in his first year in North London.

Sacramento previously worked as assistant manager at Lille, where he helped the Ligue 1 club qualify for the Champions League, and has also served as a scout for Monaco before that.

Although he has never worked as a manager before, it is said that he could view that as the next logical step in his career.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Mourinho losing Ricardo Formosinho just a few months ago, it could be a real set back for the Tottenham boss if he is to lose Sacramento as well. One would hope that the 31-year-old will turn the job down and that he would not be willing to risk his reputation by taking over a side like Mouscron, who are rooted to the bottom of the table.
