Report: Johan Lange has set his sights on signing £15m-rated winger for Tottenham

According to Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt, Tottenham Hotspur are now eyeing a move for Hammarby attacker Viktor Dukanovic during the summer.

Spurs raided Swedish football for one of their most exciting young talents last month in the form of Lucas Bergvall and it has now emerged that the North London club have turned their attention to another one of the Allsvenskan’s budding stars.

Dukanovic, who can play on either flank, has scored 13 goals in 33 matches since signing for Hammarby last year and his performances have allegedly piqued the interest of the Lilywhites.

Lange driving Spurs interest in Dukanovic

Fotboll Direkt say that Tottenham like what they have seen of the 20-year-old, with the club’s technical director Johan Lange having first taken an interest in the youngster last summer.

The report reveals that an unnamed Italian club tried to sign the Montenegro international during last month’s transfer window but their offer of 100 million Swedish Krona (£7.6m) was turned down by Hammarby.

The publication adds that the club are hoping to get a fee of around  150 to 200 million Krona (£11.4m-£15.2m) for Dukanovic next summer. Apart from Tottenham, Barcelona are also thought to be sniffing around the young forward.

Spurs Web Opinion

Johan Lange has brought to Spurs significant expertise on the Scandinavian football market and it is not surprising to see the club now looking to raid Swedish football for some of their best young talents.

The Dane’s contacts could potentially give the Lilywhites an advantage over other suitors, just as it seemingly did in the pursuit of Lucas Bergvall.
