Report: Jorge Mendes ‘going with everything’ to get midfielder to Spurs

According to a report from Deporte Valenciano, Valencia winger Goncalo Guedes could be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, if Jorge Mendes gets his way.

Guedes has been a consistent attacking threat for the La Liga side over the last four seasons, finishing last campaign with seven goals and the same number of assists in all competitions.

The Portugal international has just two years left to run on his contract and it seems as though Valencia could be set to cash in on him.

It was reported back in April that Wolves had a meeting with Los Ches to discuss potential transfer targets, including Guedes.

Deporte Valenciano have now suggested that the club still remain keen on cashing in on the winger despite receiving no offers for him so far.

Now that Nuno Espirito Santo has left Wolves and taken over as Tottenham’s next head coach, it is asserted that the 24-year-old could be on his way to North London.

The report reveals that Guedes is managed by Jorge Mendes and that the super-agent ‘seems to be going with everything’ to get the former PSG star to Spurs.

This sort of influence from Mendes is what some Spurs fans were concerned about when Nuno’s appointment was confirmed. However, I for one do not share that concern. I cannot see Daniel Levy giving a green light to any deal that is not in the club’s best interest.
