Report: Jorge Mendes has approached former Chelsea player over move to Spurs

The Athletic have revealed that super-agent Jorge Mendes has approached Roma forward Tammy Abraham over a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.

Abraham has been on fire since making his move to the Stadio Olimpico last summer, with the striker having found the back of the net on 23 occasions in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s men so far (Transfermakrt).

The Athletic have revealed that Mendes has approached the former Chelsea man over potentially replacing Harry Kane at Spurs.

The report claims that Mendes has a good working relationship with both Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and the club’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici.

It is said that, according to Spurs sources, the agent is working on his own accord to find replacements for Kane in the event that the England captain leaves Spurs.

Apart from Abraham, Mendes has also approached Benfica striker Darwin Nunez over a move to the North London club this summer.

I do not think Kane will leave Spurs if we manage to get back into the Champions League. However, one would expect both Levy and Paratici to have contingency plans in place in case the striker pushes for a move.

As well as Abraham has played at Roma this season, it would be next to impossible to replace the 28-year-old’s goals and assists with just one player.
