Report: Jose Mourinho plots signing to cover for injured Moussa Sissoko

Tottenham Hotspur announced some woeful news yesterday as Moussa Sissoko was forced to undergo surgery on his knee after picking up an injury against Southampton.

The North London club claimed that the Frenchman will not be able to make a return to training until April, leaving Mourinho without the first-team star for months.

Jose Mourinho is already without Tanguy Ndombele in midfield after he was also injured against the Saints, while Victor Wanyama seems heavily out of favour.

The Daily Star now claims that the injury to Sissoko, along with doubts over Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso, have led Mourinho to desire central midfield reinforcement.

Mourinho currently has the likes of Harry Winks, Eric Dier, and Oliver Skipp to choose from, along with Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen who can drop back into holding roles.

However, it appears the Spurs head coach now wants a new centre-mid through the doors this month.
