Report: Jose Mourinho resigned to being without player for beyond February

Tottenham Hotspur are set to be without the services of Giovani Lo Celso for at least another three weeks, according to The Guardian.

The Argentine suffered a hamstring injury during the first half of the home defeat to Leicester City before Christmas and has not been seen since.

Jose Mourinho admitted at the start of last month that he was not expecting the midfielder to return to action for a few weeks (Football.London).

The report suggests that Lo Celso’s injury is complicated and the Spurs boss is now accepting of the fact that he is likely to be without the former Real Betis man for the entirety of February and potentially longer.

Lo Celso’s injury situation was said to be a factor in the club’s decision not to allow Dele Alli to leave on loan for the reminder of the season.

The 24-year-old has had a troublesome time with injuries since making the move to North London, having missed at least fifteen matches due to respective issues (transfermarkt).
