Report: Jose Mourinho wants to bring Real Madrid flop to Spurs

There was plenty of expectation on Eder Militao’s shoulders when he completed a big-money move from Porto to Real Madrid last summer.

However, the defender has failed to live up to the hype at the Santiago Bernabeu this season and reports indicate that he could already be on his way out of the Spanish capital.

Spurs’ interest Militao was first reported by El Desmarque back in March, when it was suggested that Jose Mourinho wanted to bring the defender to North London.

However, Marca squashed those rumours last month by suggesting that Zinedine Zidane was still counting on the Brazilian to stay and felt that the 22-year-old was merely adapting to Spanish football.

A report in Don Balon has now claimed just the opposite. They suggest that Zidane is completely unconvinced by the former Porto star and that the Spanish giants are ready to cut their losses on him.

The report suggests that Spurs have a long-standing interest in Militao and that Mourinho is a big fan of the central defender.

One advantage a player like Milatao would give us is that he would be able to cover across multiple positions at the back (mainly centre-back and right-back). We seem to be linked with many versatile players, especially in defence, which makes sense given that we don’t seem to have much to spend this summer.
