Report: Journalist claims Spurs have made official offer for striker

Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi.

Turkish football journalist Ferudun Nigdelioglu took to Twitter to claim that Tottenham along with fellow Premier League side Burnley have submitted official offers to Fenerbahce.

Tottenham have been without an out and out back up striker for Harry Kane following the double summer departure of Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen.

While big things are expected of Troy Parrott, the 17-year-old has not been included on a regular basis in Jose Mourinho’s match day squad since taking over in North London.

Nigdelioglu claims that Fenerbahce will try and resist selling the 25-year-old in the January transfer window in order to help their push for the league title.

Muriqi has scored eleven goals in 17 appearances in all competitions this season which has helped Fenerbahce to fourth place in the table and are currently six points behind leaders Sivasspor.

Spurs are previously reported to have sent scouts to watch the forward in action for Kosovo in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro in which Muriqi netted the second goal in his side’s 2-0 win (Aksam).
