Tottenham Hotspur could be set to drop their interest in one of the players which they have been most heavily linked with in recent weeks.
Tottenham sent two senior officials to Portugal last week to discuss the possibility of a deal (A Bola).
According to Portuguese football journalist Goncalo Lopes, Tottenham’s interest in Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes could be about to go ‘cold’ due to their pursuit of Philippe Coutinho.

Lopes had claimed earlier on Monday that Portuguese midfielder and his agent had reached an agreement over personal terms with Spurs, with the two clubs yet to agree to a fee.

The Daily Mail has previously claimed that the midfielder had asked Sporting to let him make the move to North London.
Spurs are said to be leading the chase for Coutinho, with Barcelona willing to allow the former Liverpool playmaker to leave (talkSPORT).
Daniel Levy has until 5pm tomorrow to finish conducting his transfer business before the window closes, or it could be yet another ‘nearly’ deal for the lilywhites.
