Journalist Dean Jones has said that he believes that Ivan Toney will end up at Tottenham Hotspur rather than Arsenal and Chelsea.
During the months leading into the January window, it was widely reported by various publications that the race for Toney’s signature would be between Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal (Daily Express).
However, as we got closer to the window, it emerged that the Lilywhites had pulled out of the race for the 27-year-old since they deemed him too expensive, with Arsenal backed to beat Chelsea to the player’s signature (The Independent).
In the end, all those predictions have seemingly turned out to be false, with Toney looking likely to remain at Brentford until the summer barring a huge twist in the dying hours of the transfer window.

Could Ivan Toney be heading to Tottenham?
The race for the centre-forward’s signature could head up once again next summer and Jones believes that Spurs might be well placed to secure his services.
He told Ranks FC Ultras Podcast: “I personally have doubts about Toney going to either Arsenal or Chelsea, which sounds strange because the narrative is he’s going to one of those clubs, but I think Toney might end up going to Tottenham. If Arsenal look elsewhere and Chelsea sign Osimhen, that might open the door for something like that to happen.”

If Toney does not sign a new deal with Brentford, he would only have a year left on his contract next summer, which means that the Bees cannot demand crazy money for him.
It is also worth noting that both Arsenal and Chelsea would have to sell players in order to spend big, given their financial situations, which potentially gives Tottenham a big advantage.
