Report: Julian Nagelsmann is back in the frame for Spurs job – Details revealed

The Times have reported that Julian Nagelsmann is now back in the frame for the Tottenham Hotspur job this summer, despite claims earlier this month that he was out of the running.

The report claims that the young German coach is looking for assurances about Tottenham‘s next sporting director before he agrees to anything.

Talks have reportedly resumed between Spurs and Julian Nagelsmann‘s representatives, but it sounds as though progress may not be made until he knows who will replace Fabio Paratici.

The Times even go as far as to say that ‘Nagelsmann is understood to have recommended candidates for the job to Daniel Levy‘.

It emerged earlier this month that Nagelsmann was not a target for Spurs because they did not see him as the right fit for the club at this moment (Evening Standard).

Simon Stone wrote for the BBC that Spurs wanted to get ahead of the rumours in order to ensure fans were not disappointed further down the road.

SportBILD claimed that Spurs had worries that Nagelsmann needed more time off after his split from Bayern Munich.

However, there were whispers that Tottenham could return for Nagelsmann if the new sporting director liked the look of him (Telegraph).

Although we do not yet know who that sporting director will be, The Times now claim that talks have resumed and Nagelsmann is back in the frame for the job.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I’m not sure where this has come from, but I’m a big fan. Getting Nagelsmann on board for a five-year project would be huge for Tottenham.

However, I suspect that Arne Slot will still be looked at as a very real option, as he is more likely to stick around for that length of time.
