Report: Juventus are hesitant to meet asking price for rumoured Spurs target

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are unwilling to meet AS Roma’s asking price for rumoured Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo.

Zaniolo has struggled to hit his previous heights after his return from an ACL injury and the winger has been a bit-part player under Jose Mourinho this season.

It was reported back in February that Fabio Paratici is an admirer of the 22-year-old and Roma could be willing to listen to offers for the player in the summer starting from around £34m (Calciomercato.it).

Spurs were expected to face competition from Juventus and Newcastle for the Italy international this summer (Fichajes).

In what comes as a potential boost to Tottenham’s pursuit of Zaniolo, Gazzetta have now claimed Juve have some concerns over completing a deal for the winger.

The report explains that while the silky left-footer is expected to leave the Stadio Olimpico this summer due to his fractured relationship with Mourinho, Juve are not willing to meet Roma’s asking price of €70m (£59m).

It is suggested that Massimiliano Allegri’s men could make a loan-to-buy offer to the Giallorossi for Zaniolo when the transfer window reopens.

Spurs Web Opinion

Not only are Zaniolo’s recent performances a matter of concern but the way Kulusevksi is playing means that we do not need the Roma man, particularly at the prices being mooted. I would be really surprised if the Spurs make a move for the 22-year-old this summer.
