Report: Juventus are ready to sell alleged Spurs target for £17m in January

According to Calciomercato, Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie could be sold in January if the right price is reached.

McKennie was linked with a move to Tottenham over the summer, with Fabio Paratici reportedly being keen on bringing the midfielder to North London at the time.

The Lilywhites allegedly even offered Tanguy Ndombele to Juventus in a potential swap deal for the USA international but a deal did not materialise.

Spurs have been backed to reignite their interest in the Juventus star when the transfer window reopens in January, with reports from Italy suggesting last month that the Old Lady are ready to cash in on the midfielder.

The 23-year-old has since forced himself into Massimiliano Allegri’s starting eleven, having started Juve’s last five Serie A games and scoring back-to-back goals in their respective 2-1 defeats against Sassuolo and Hellas Verona (Express).

However, if Calciomercato’s latest update is to be believed, McKennie’s improved run of form does not rule out the possibility of him leaving Turin in January.

The report explains that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici’s Tottenham could come knocking for the midfielder when the transfer window reopens.

It is alleged that Juve would be open to cashing in on McKennie if they receive an offer of around €20m (£17.1m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Going by the reaction on social media over the summer, a lot of Spurs fans would seemingly love for the club to buy McKennie.

However, I am not convinced that the 23-year-old would be an upgrade over what we have. I would rather see us try our best to snap up Franck Kessie instead.
