Report: Juventus, Barcelona and Liverpool could challenge Spurs for winger

According to the latest information from Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur could face competition from some of Europe’s elite for Sampdoria winger Mikkel Damsgaard.

Damsgaard has impressed since moving to Sampdoria in January of last year but it was his performances during Euro 2020 the have made many sit up and take notice.

The winger, who scored a beautiful free-kick in Denmark’s semi-final loss to England on Wednesday, was first linked with a move to Spurs back in February before speculation linking him with a move to North London then re-emerged following Fabio Paratici’s appointment.

Sampdoria president, Massimo Ferrero has already warned clubs which are interested in the 21-year-old that the player will not be sold unless the club’s asking price is met.

Gazzetta dello Sport have now claimed that Damsgaard’s value has now risen to £34m on the back of his impressive showing in the Euros.

The report also adds that Tottenham could face competition from Juventus, Liverpool and Barcelona, who have also expressed their interest in the Denmark international.

Spurs Web Opinion

On the back of his impressive performances in the Euros, I would expect us to be priced out of a move for Damsgaard. Spurs do not tend to get involved in bidding wars and so I believe Fabio Paratici will likely move on to other targets if the likes of Barca and Juve have indeed entered the race for the 21-year-old.
