Report: Juventus could battle Sevilla for Tottenham player this summer

CalcioMecatoWeb have revealed Juventus could be set to battle Sevilla for Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon this summer.

It has been all but confirmed that Reguilon is surplus to requirements at Tottenham after the Spaniard remained back in London as the Spurs squad jetted off to South Korea over the weekend.

Football Insider reported on Tuesday that the 25-year-old was edging close to a loan move to Sevilla, where he already had a successful loan spell during the 2019/20 campaign.

The report claimed that Julen Lopetegui’s side have held talks with Spurs and the left-back’s representatives, and are confident of getting a deal over the line.

However, CalicoMercatoWeb have now claimed that Juventus are ready to turn their attention to signing a new left-back after sealing the captures of Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria.

It is asserted that Reguilon is on the Old Lady’s radar and that a ‘dual’ could ‘light up’ between the Serie A giants and Sevilla for the Tottenham man.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Sevilla would be able to afford Reguilon this summer, which could be why they are exploring a loan with an option or obligation to buy.

Juve might have the financial means to meet Tottenham’s asking price for the Spaniard but the left-back might prefer to return to the familiar surroundings of the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium ahead of the World Cup.
