Report: Juventus could turn to former Spurs boss if they can’t get Conte

Gazzetta dello Sport have revealed that Juventus could turn to former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino to replace Massimiliano Allegri at the helm.

Reports from Italy over recent weeks have indicated that Antonio Conte is open to returning to Juventus when his contract with Spurs runs out at the end of the season, which is why he is reluctant to extend his current deal (Calciomercato).

However, Football.London reported on Sunday that the Tottenham head coach is willing to open discussions with the North London club regarding a new contract.

One man who is currently a free agent is Pochettino, who departed Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season. The Argentine has recently been mooted as a target for the likes of Aston Villa (Football Insider), Leicester City (Leicester Mercury) and Nice (ESPN).

Gazzetta have now suggested that Pochettino is also on Juve’s radar, with the Old Lady said to be considering a change at the top. The report asserts that if Conte proves to be out of Juve’s reach, the Serie A club could make a move for the 50-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

If I were Pochettino, I would rather take the Juve or Inter job than go to a club like Aston Villa or Leicester City.

While I can understand why he would be keen to return to the Premier League, that could always be an option for the 50-year-old a few years down the line.

I am sure that the Argentine will be on Tottenham’s radar if Conte departs in a couple of years.
