Report: Juventus hope to ‘find an agreement soon’ for alleged Spurs target

According to a report in Tuttosport (as relayed by Football Italia), Juventus are ready to offer some of their players to Bologna in an effort to quickly beat out the competition to land Riccardo Calafiori.

Serie A

While Calafiori has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs over the last couple of months on the back of his outstanding debut Serie A season, it now seems like the Lilywhites are expected to face defeat in their pursuit of the centre-back.

Just a few days ago, Alfredo Pedulla suggested that the 22-year-old is ready to reject advances from the Premier League and the Bundesliga as his preference is to remain in Serie A.

Tuttosport now reveal that Juve have been told by Bologna that Calafiori will cost around €25m-€30m (£21.2m-£25.5m) and the Old Lady are coming up with ways to lower the cost of the operation.

Juventus are keen on signing Riccardo Calafiori

The Bianconeri are allegedly ready to include two players in the operation, with Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, Tommaso Barbieri and Fabio Miretti all potential candidates to make the move from Turin to Bologna as part of the deal.

The report adds that Juve are now working on the deal and are hoping to find an agreement for Calafiori soon before their competitors can act.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think Tottenham are now resigned to losing out on Calafiori, just as they are with Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly, who both appear to be on their way to Newcastle.

Spurs might still hold out some hope of clinching a deal for Alessandro Buongiorno but even that appears a longshot and it looks like the Torino star is not going to move until after the Euros.
