Report: Juventus join Spurs in left-wing-back chase – £17m price tag suggested

Juventus have joined Tottenham in monitoring Brighton and Hove Albion wing-back Marc Cucurella ahead of the summer transfer window, according to TuttoJuve.

Cucurella has enjoyed a fine first season in the Premier League with the Seagulls, who signed him from Getafe last August and especially caught the eye in their 4-0 thrashing of Manchester United at the weekend.

The 23-year-old has flourished at the Amex Stadium and become a dependable option that Graham Potter can turn to, having made 37 appearances in all competitions this term (Transfermarkt).

And his displays after just one season on the South Coast have reportedly caused him to become a wanted man, with TuttoJuve reporting interest from the Premier League and Serie A.

The report claims both clubs are ‘evaluating’ Cucurella’s debut campaign in the English top flight and are weighing up their options with the opening of the transfer window now just around the corner.

It is claimed the Spaniard, who can be deployed up and down the left flank, would likely set suitors back up to £17 million (€20m) if Brighton were to sanction a deal.

Spurs head coach Antonio Conte has also allegedly named Cucurella as one of his prime targets (Fichajes.net) as he gets his plans underway ahead of his first full season in North London.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham have had some concerns with their wing-backs this season, so the club could look to strengthen that area in particular this summer.

Cucurella should be someone they look towards as he has demonstrated that he is competent both going forward and in defence despite being in England for less than a year.
