Report: Juventus keeping tabs on Spurs and Newcastle-linked full-back

Juventus are reportedly monitoring Denmark full-back Joakim Maehle, who is also said to be on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.

Italian news outlet Tuttosport claim that Juventus are currently evaluating their transfer targets at right-back with the Atalanta player one of those who the Old Lady have been keeping tabs on.

Antonio Conte has given Emerson Royal the majority of game time on the right side of his defence ahead of Djed Spence and Matt Doherty, despite the Brazilian being a source of frustration among large sections of the Tottenham faithful due to his sub-standard displays (Daily Mail).

Maehle, however, is able to play on either flank and operated as left wing-back during Denmark’s World Cup opener against Tunisia on Tuesday.

Tutto Atalanta reported earlier this summer that Tottenham and West Ham United were both keen on the 25-year-old and now could face competition from Juventus if they look to follow up their interest.

The right-hand side of the Tottenham defence has to be a priority for Fabio Paratici during January with Emerson Royal not able to contribute with the types of delivery expected from an Antonio Conte wing-back and his defensive ability is also questionable.

Destiny Udogie will be arriving next summer to compete for the left wing-back berth against Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon, with the latter having been very disappointing in recent matches.
