Report: Juventus make ‘first survey’ in the race for Tottenham player

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus are set to rival Nottingham Forest for Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein first reported on Monday that Nottingham Forest had entered into talks with Tottenham regarding a loan deal for Reguilon.

The journalist added that Spurs had informed Steve Cooper’s side they would have to cover the left-back’s full wages if the loan move goes thorough.

The Daily Mail subsequently backed up Forests’ interest in Reguilon but added that the left-back had picked up an injury, which is holding up the newly promoted club’s push for the player.

If TMW’s latest update is to be believed, Juventus are keen to strengthen at left-back and have identified the Tottenham man as a target. The report reveals that Massimiliano Allegri’s side have ‘made a first survey’ regarding deal for Reguilon.

However, TMW assert that Forest are still leading the race for the Spurs star and aim to ‘close’ the deal in the ‘next few hours’.

It is also worth noting that the information provided by TMW has been contradicted by Fabrizio Romano, who said on the latest Here We Go Podcast (23/08/22) that Reguilon had turned down Forests’ approach as the former Real Madrid man has ‘different priorities’.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is anybody’s guess at this point where Reguilon will end up. However, one would think that if Juventus’ interest is concrete, the left-back would prefer to join the Serie A giants over Forest as that would give him a much better shot at making the Spain squad for the World Cup.
