Report: Juventus midfielder offered to Spurs amidst alleged Arsenal interest

Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal over recent weeks, has been offered to Tottenham, according to TuttoMeractoWeb.

Arthur showed plenty of promise in his couple of seasons at the Camp Nou things have not quite gone to plan for midfielder since he swapped the Catalan giants for Juventus in the summer of 2020.

The 25-year-old has fallen down Massimiliano Allegri’s pecking order, having made just seven league appearances for the Serie A giants so far this season.

Sport Italia journalist Gianluigi Longari claimed in December that a move to Spurs could be on the cards for the Brazilian.

However, The Daily Express claimed this week that Arsenal’s technical director Edu was particularly keen on taking Arthur to the Emirates stadium this month.

The Daily Mail then added that the former Barcelona man was open to joining Arsenal but the Gunners were waiting for a green light from Allegri to complete the deal.

However, if TMW’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs are still very much in the race for Arthur. The report claims that the midfielder’s new agent has offered Antonio Conte’s men the chance to sign his client.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not convinced that Arthur would be successful in the Premier League, nor do I think he fits the profile of midfielder Spurs need at the moment. Conte ideally needs an energetic number eight like Franck Kessie, who is good at timing his forward runs, particularly since Dele and Ndombele are reportedly not part of his plans.
